The Mutha – Get some in 2021
Event Q: WhatDid
PAX:All F3 Pax!
Where: Charlotte, NC
Mark it down, get your mind right. This is something you need to do. GrowRuck 24 will be happening in Charlotte, NC the weekend of August 6, 2021.
If you are not aware, GrowRuck is an intentional leadership development event that takes place over a series of events throughout the weekend. On top of that, it is a CSAUP event which will push your limits. The commitment information is below, we are expecting big numbers for this event as this is where F3 started as you know. The focus has been on hosting these events outward, but this is a chance to bring it all home.
The cost to participate in the full weekend is around $150. This includes GrowSchool Leadership Training, covers the costs related to the ruck event, a T-Shirt, and sweet patches. Make your HC (hard-commit) official by registering now.
At a glance, you are signing up for the following:
- Friday night 2ndF Event
- Saturday AM 1 hour workout + 2 Hour GrowSchool
- Saturday PM Rucking CSAUP event (12-14 hours)
- Sunday AM – EndEx by 0900
Check our the F3 Metro #GrowRuck channel for info and to collaborate on any ideas. Also, there is a #GrowRuck twitter account and the normal avenues to communicate.
The most frequent question asked when an F3 group begins to look into doing the Challenge is “do I need to buy a $300 backpack”. The short answer is no. A GORUCK ruck is not required, but GORUCK Rucks last — FYI: the Rucker 3.0 model ($185) goes on sale from time-to-time, and F3’s Ruck Clubs often receive discounts that may work for the Rucker, depending on the month. Veterans, teachers, and first responders all get discounts through GovX as well. Contact your local RuckQ or one of the event Qs for details. The 511 Rush 12 is a $110 version that some guys use. The 511 Rush 24 is slightly larger and slightly more expensive. Also, many guys pick up second-hand rucks at Army surplus stores, eBay, or Craigslist.
Besides a ruck, you’ll need some bricks or a plate for weight, a headlamp, reflective PT belt, and a hydration bladder.
What, you ask, is a GTE?
It’s simple: Learn the principles – Get Right, Live Right, Lead Right, Leave Right (G3L) – from F3 Nation HIM, and apply them during times of high stress and limited visibility (and weight!)
We rolled out GrowSchool in November 2016 as an offering for F3’s “Nomads” — workout locations that are on their way to becoming Regions and can use a little support and encouragement along the way.
After teaching through a couple of GrowSchools, we started to realize how important CSAUP events are to building 2ndF and the overall momentum toward a region. And no CSAUP event that we’ve ever seen has the same catalytic effect on 2ndF and F3 growth as F3 guys getting together to do an overnight ruck challenge.
So, we thought, why not combine the two?
Over the last several years, almost 600 men completed GTEs in 12 states, with more to come in 2021 and beyond.
GrowRuck will be led by some awesome F3 Cadre. Our F3 veteran Cadre will tailor activities and the teaching to reinforce the G3LT curriculum and lessons.
Some of your F3 Nation Leadership (stay tuned to find out who) will participate in the challenge alongside the rest of the PAX.
PAX from regions throughout the Carolinas (and beyond) are encouraged to toe the line and grow stronger with the Pax of Metro.
We encourage nearby regions to use the Metro #GrowRuck Slack Channel to coordinate any transportation for inbound PAX or logistics chatter.
